Pro Bono PR & Marketing Support by Meliana Salim

During my time living in Ubud, Bali, I provided pro bono public relations and marketing support to Executive Chef Christian Hinckley at Amandari. My efforts focused on enhancing the property’s culinary profile through strategic media outreach and storytelling. Highlights of this work include securing features in prominent publications such as HelloBali magazine, which recognized Chef Hinckley as “Bali’s Best Chef.” This initiative contributed to increased visibility and prestige for Amandari’s dining experience.

Christian Hinckley has always been passionate about food. His food philosophy is simple: surprise and delight. This succinct axiom has been the guiding compass behind his menu conception and his dedication to providing the best dining experiences to his guests.

Since 2009, the founders of Gelato Secrets have made it their mission to create the most exquisite gelato and sorbetto. They have scoured their island home Bali for the best fruits, vegetables, spices and other natural ingredients, and now, they are proud to share these amazing discoveries with their customers through their unique “East Meets West” concept of artisanal gelato creation.

Editions Didier Millet (EDM) was founded in 1989 in Paris by Didier Millet. He opened a branch of EDM in Singapore in 1990, which soon established itself as the headquarters and centre of the business. Today, EDM has offices in Singapore and Bangkok. EDM also work closely with its sister company, Les Editions du Pacifique, based in Paris.

EDM enjoys an international reputation for our high-quality books, and publishes approximately 30 new titles per annum in print form, and around 15 ebooks. We have published over 500 titles in total, of which some 130 are currently in print, comprising mainly general illustrated and reference titles for the adult trade market. The chief subject areas are travel, history, natural history, art, architecture, cookery and lifestyle. The books are mainly about Southeast Asia, but not exclusively so, and many of our titles have become standard reference sources for art and culture enthusiasts as well as travellers.
