Calma Ubud is a unique boutique resort located in Ubud, Bali’s vibrant highlands. Comprising a total of ten chic guest rooms and suites, the resort is a sanctuary of calm for stylish travellers in the heart of Bali.

I met with the lovely owner of Calma Ubud on a rainy November evening in Bali in 2015, months before the resort was scheduled to open. From the get-go, we were completely in tune with each other. We shared the same vision for Calma Ubud’s website: A simple, responsive and timeless design that reflects the natural beauty and serenity of the resort, complemented with engaging and effective web copy.

I gave her some inputs on digital marketing strategies that I had successfully implemented in my previous employment as a boutique hotel manager. I also introduced her to a very talented graphic designer to help her with brand identity and helped her search for a local photographer who specializes in interior and architecture photography.

The results:

An inviting, attractive, responsive and easy-to-navigate website
Soulful, seductive and informative web copy that encourages visitors to linger and take action.
A simple, catchy tagline that embodies Calma Ubud’s spirit and sets the resort apart from its competition: “A sanctuary of calm in the heart of Ubud”
Creative, eye-catching and highly effective social media initiatives that attract, engage and entertain the target audience
